They contain various beneficial properties, such as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties which can support our immune system. How can we not know what plants to use as a natural remedy? Also, growing flowers should not be damaging to the environment, but rather contribute to a healthy ecosystem and biodiversity.
With this graduation project questioned Sari the conventional flower industry by researching alternative ways to produce flowers and has analyzed the use of flowers in ancient times. With FLORAL LAB. she aims to transform the current perspective on growing and consuming flowers by making it accessible, inspiring, and logic again.
FLORAL LAB. is a modular vase consisting of four elements made of ceramics and glass. Each element individually is multifunctional and inspired by kitchen tools, such as a sieve and mortar. The vase not only makes arranging flowers more easily, but it also simplifies preparing flowers for consumption when in full bloom. This way, flowers could be used for culinary, medicinal, and for cosmetical purposes.
