Twisted colors - Exploring color gradients through the twist of yarns.

How can a textile designer use twisting of yarns as a technique to create a color gradient?

This works explores a combination of different techniques. Such as twisting
of yarns, weaving, color blending and form. With a focus on color gradients.

Through a hands on method, exploration was carried out using two main
techniques. Twisting of yarns and weaving.

The decision to work with color gradients was made to show the width of the
technology and how many different color shades that can actually be obtained by
working with the twist. The work shows that it is possible to work with color blending through the twisting of yarns and how colors interact with each other.

The result are three woven color gradient objects which can be shaped in different ways, which means that they can be adapted to fit into different environments and used for different purposes.
The work aims to show a different way to create a color gradient, using
yarn twisting as a technique.
