A project in between the bio-economy, green chemistry and construction applied to the use and valorisation of industrial waste.
The overall objective of the project is to transform industrial waste, fly ash and non-recyclable plastics into an economic resource through Geopolymers.

Building a greener future

Krastos wants to actively contribute to decreasing the environmental impact of the building sector and create new value chains for the circular economy.

Geopolymer: green concrete from waste

To do this, Krastos has developed an eco-friendly mineral binder with superior technical properties (compared to traditional binder like concrete or resins) that can be produced using natural resources and several industrial or post-consumer waste up to 90%.

The final material has up to 80% less CO2 emission compared to traditional concrete: is also very durable and strong and can be used for bricks, tiles, lightweight insulating panels and urban design products.
