The queen of heat, the Cactus, makes her own shadow. It is a lot cooler between the ribs than at the ends. This inspired the design of a modular facade system to create shade on sunny facades and reduce heat stress.

Cactus facadeelements gives cooling effect, helping to keep them cool in hot cities with heat island

The Cactus Element is inspired by ... the cactus. All the bumps and bumps, ribs and bulges that a cactus has ensured that they can survive well in a warm environment. Shadows are created between the ribs. The cactus week is shadowed by its shape. More plants do this. This facade element is connected. The facade element has extra shade due to its shape. And of course we also did research on plants. Such as sedums and succulents.

The succulents in the element can withstand heat & drought and freezing temperatures.

This facade element is unique for several reasons. The element is shaped in such a way that it can be transported flat and can be assembled yourself if you want. In addition, we have investigated the possibilities of working with recyclable material and that is possible. The elements can also re-enter the chain after use.
