This project presents skin as an organ, material and communicator. It explores its potentials β its extraordinary, fragile and resilient facades β as well as the connections to our personal anecdotes and journeys.
The skin's language
Mountains turn into folds, valleys become notches, craters transform into scars. Gliding over the human body, we find different climates, environments and landscapes β each inhabited by microorganisms with their own delicate ecosystems. Our skin is who we are β physically β but is also evidence of our experiences, what we have overcome and what has passed. This project presents skin as an organ, material and communicator. It explores its potentials β its extraordinary, fragile and resilient facades β as well as the connections to our personal anecdotes and journeys. With the help of topographical metaphors, the work seeks to unravel the skinβs language and its stories.
