(Archive) Inhuman Performances

This project was part of DDW 2021
Nepco

During DDW, Mediamatic will host different inhuman performances that will alienate you from your own human form.

Iris Woutera - Deform

Deform (2015) is a performance in which a flexible cocoon envelops the human body. The combination of hard (plastic) and stretching (textile) provides a movable space, in which remarkable forms can be created. A performer plays with the material which in turn reacts to movement. The organic flow refers to forms in nature, such as plants, fishes, or a gently swaying sea anemone.

Live Tufting with Nadie Borggreve

Watch as Nadie Borggreve creates her deeply rooted creations in nature. Her creations resemble Gothic windows: how they look upward, to the sky; wool replaces stained glass, creating astral formations. Borggreve also plays with the composition of her pieces, either fragmenting them or putting them together as collages.

Nepco's Biologic Dynamic Dadaïstic Interventions & Houseplant in residence Jesse Asselman

Get ready to be alienated from your own human form. You can find the dynamic group of Nepco and houseplant Jesse Asselman around Natlab or maybe even somewhere else on Strijp-S. Feel free to interact with them, or ask them questions.
