Alaris Studio shows that digitally fabricated design can also be soft. Its collection of: wearable accessories, home decor, and sensory tools. Each object is unlike any other, and no two ever the same, on display and for sale at Fashion Tech Farm.

Process

Alaris Studio creates 4D Textile objects like nothing you've seen before. This first-of-its-kind technique was developed and refined over several years in collaboration with TU/e and Fashion Tech Farm. Fabric is pre-stretched, then 3D printed on, and released. Shaped by machine and refined by hand, sculptural in form. No two pieces are ever identical.

Objects

Every piece carries its own aesthetics and purpose. The "Head in the Clouds" earring collection is as lightweight as it sounds. Sculptural forms that float, shaped by unpredictability. The "Blooming" brooch-necklace collection draws from nature's beauty: look closer, and you'll find a flower, a butterfly, or something in between. Both are born from organic shapes, designed to be worn and wondered at.

Huggle, developed in collaboration with ADEZIV for Van Abbemuseum, brings a different purpose: a satisfying snap interaction designed for sensory regulation. Discreet enough to carry, , elegant enough to wear.

For this Dutch Design Week, the technique finds a new application altogether: a home object, exploring a new way this method can exist in everyday life.

Touch

Did you think sculptural jewelry has to be heavy? Or that sensorial tools all look childish? Alaris Studio is here to change that. Designed and made in Eindhoven, every object on display at Fashion Tech Farm is also for sale. A chance to take a piece of the process, and the story behind it, home.
