across physical and mental borders, disciplines and communities
We are villagers of The Design Village, a school with a home in India and Italy, but finding peers everywhere. Our philosophy is built on the belief that design for the current world and its challenges cannot happen alone: it takes collaboration and redefining ways to connect across physical and mental borders, across disciplines and across communities. Especially now, when the world seems to reward division over connection, and exclusion over care.
That means our learners are invited into a way of life: unlearning what we thought we knew, dreaming courageously, and doing the slow and sometimes uncomfortable work of building those dreams together with others.
This exhibition is that work made visible: dreams in progress, arguments still being held, things half-built and things finished. From avenues of biodesign and reimagining materials, to giving space to overlooked communities, to critically questioning commodification and public space.
But we don't only want to show you our work, we want to connect with you too. Come as a visitor. You'll leave, at least for the afternoon, a villager.
We warmly invite you in.
