Through themes of cultural identity and craftsmanship, recent graduates of the Design Academy of Eindhoven respond to a rapidly changing world with a critical, reflective, and attentive gaze.

Do you have your eyes peeled?

Keep Your Eyes Peeled, borrowing the title from an idiom that calls for alertness, is a collection of research projects by emerging designers and artists. The exhibition pivots around questions of how cultural heritage exists in the modern world and how materials are transformed through craft. Situated in the fast-changing world where values and perspectives clash, each project makes a personal intervention. Through a careful and attentive gaze, the projects come together by finding value or critique in how we perceive culture and craft.

This exhibition calls for a reconsideration of how we understand the world from various perspectives. It invites viewers to stay alert to whether they are unthinkingly accepting the world as shown, letting values important to humanity die out, and obscuring our own vision of the world. Keep your eyes peeled, or you will get lost.
