La Cena está Servida
Like other objects from the SOBREMESA collection, this piece highlights orange clay, a material deeply rooted in the history of Mexican cuisine. By using this type of ceramic that is so characteristic of traditional Mexican cookware, the design revives a familiar and nostalgic texture, translating it into a contemporary context.
The concept reimagines the conventional plate by introducing a ritual of discovery. When served, a central lid initially conceals the main course, creating an element of surprise and anticipation for the diner before the meal begins.
Once removed, this lid reveals its dual purpose, functioning as a bowl for traditional liquid starters, like soups or creams, while a separate cavity holds the side dish. By accommodating a three-course meal in a single object, the piece's organic forms evoke the dynamism, closeness, and warmth that define the Mexican culture of sharing food.
