Step into the listening bar
"Sanctuary of Sound and Whispers" forms the 7th edition of Foundation We Are's event series Common Grounds. Set during Dutch Design Week, the event presents a listening bar reimagined as a chapel of sound, blending the communal energy of a bar with the intimate, hushed atmosphere of a listening experience.
The evening begins with participatory soundscapes, as guests and invited artists shape ambient textures. As the night unfolds, a live performance, followed by spoken word, music, or dance, signals a shift into curated vinyl DJ sets.
The music remains soft yet engaging, fostering conversation, movement, and a natural evolution of the space’s energy. Here, the fatigue of the week dissolves into a ritualistic pause, where friends and strangers connect through shared sound, play, and quiet reflection.
