What if teens designed their own feed? Design studio TodayTomorrow teamed up with teenagers to redesign social media to turn doomscrolling into social time. It’s effect will be tested in a controlled study with the University of Amsterdam.

From co-creation to prototype

After four design sprints with teens and exploring many directions, we landed on one simple feature that turns doomscrolling into social time. When the app notices that two friends are both doomscrolling, it invites them to switch to a video call with each other. TodayTomorrow created a prototype to test it's effectiveness in a controlled study together with University of Amsterdam. The results will help policymakers and social media platforms to make positive changes to social media.
