"The Entity" stages humanity's religious and ritualistic relationship with new technology. Scrolling has become a form of meditation, algorithms drag us into trances, we make sacrifices in the form of time and energy, yet we keep playing into it.

The Ritual

The idea of "playing into it" is what drove the creation of this installation. "The Entity" turns it into a physical puzzle that participants solve step by step. Each visitor is handed a candle and invited to kneel before a synthetic idol. In front of it stands an altar with five artifacts, and only the right offering opens the way forward. With every stage completed, the idol comes a little closer to waking, and the participant sinks a little deeper into its ritual.

Being Watched

Throughout the ritual, "The Entity" is aware of its visitors. Its digital eyes follow every movement, while an infrared camera shows the space through the idol's own point of view, so participants and onlookers can see themselves as it sees them. Stage-specific lighting, animations, and subtle vibrations shift as the ritual progresses, building an atmosphere that is both devotional and unsettling.
