The name ‘Lumen’ pays tribute to the building’s historic origins and symbolises ‘luminous flux’. A reference that takes on even more meaning during Dutch Design Week, as light, creativity and design come together in the unique setting of the Light Tower. Inside Lumen, this connection is reflected in the impressive Gatsby-style ceiling installation, filled with sparkling light bulbs. During DDW, the Lichttoren is also home to our own exhibition, Objects in the Light Tower. The exhibition perfectly complements the creative atmosphere and unique story of this historic location.
