Nature as ally in the energy transition
How we shape the energy transition matters. The energy transition began as a challenge to restore and maintain natural and social prosperity. In practice, we see a technological perspective dominate, narrowing the original goals. In a time of scarcity, carefully choosing solutions that create multiple values is crucial, but these remain overlooked. Therefore, the Topsector Energy launched a design study with social designers, exploring nature as an ally in the energy transition. The ecosystem as the starting point for making the built environment more sustainable. What happens if we, as humans, place ourselves not above, but within the ecosystem of a neighborhood? Together with designers and enterprising makers, we discover how we can work (together) within the ecosystem. We call this Bondmaking!
Bonding in the HUB Bouw aan Morgen
Bondmakers are moving towards a sustainable living environment by proposing ideas and surprising colleagues, partners, and residents with new perspectives and possibilities. This isn't easy. It requires persuasiveness, inspiration, innovative thinking, new working methods, and imagination. In the HUB 'Bouw aan Morgen', we share the results of a year of learning and experimenting, and build on the ever-growing group of bondmakers. We do this through several interactive works, such as the audio piece “Komt een plein bij de...,” the experience of “tech-fix addiction” specialists and “Groenda”, developing language as a broker to create ecological surplus value. These interactive works help strengthen the bondmaker movement and encourage it to view and act more from an ecosystem perspective.
