Crystalline Layer

Crystalline layer responds to a cosmic language—chasing the traces of “mother tongue” spoken by Earth and the stars. Through the interplay of performative music film, and sculptural-furniture installations. It constructs a landform-like, multisensory space, inviting life to wander and dwell within.

Cosmic Language

Crystalline layer responds to a cosmic language—chasing the traces of “mother tongue” spoken by Earth and the stars, traversing geological strata, reverie, and cosmic rhythms that span the Eurasian continent. As I trace the rise and subsidence of geological layers and the mutual gazing, listening, touching, and depicting among living beings. Birds lead me—to learn the language of water, to grow familiar with the words of mountains.

Fluid Traces

Ultimately, it constructs a landform-like, multisensory space, inviting life to wander and dwell within. The exhibition interweaves an audiovisual practice of photography, chanting, and performance, alongside installations that combine publication, paintings, sculptures, and furniture. It captures those flowing miraculous moments, and invites you to contemplate and sense this free fluidity. When we return to the geological layer, what traces will we leave behind?

Hosted by ICEYLITHE Studio

ICEYLITHE Studio founded by artist Iceylithe Bintong Wang, which centers on the long-term project “Crystalline Layer.” Its research-driven, interdisciplinary practice turns geological and biological fieldwork and material experimentation into multisensory works—sculpture, film, sound, publications, and homeware. Through exhibitions, partnerships, and sustainable design, it brings life-centered awareness into daily life; a donation model supports polar ecosystems, habitats, and biodiversity.
