Launch of a new platform on Design Challenges

For over a decade, design challenges have formed the core of What Design Can Do’s programme. Serving as open calls, campaigns, and accelerator programmes, they address some of the most pressing issues of our time. Over the years, What Design Can Do has launched challenges on topics like Clean Energy, Waste, Circularity, and Climate Action.

In the past year, in collaboration with long-standing research partner STBY and with the support of ClickNL, they undertook an in-depth study to better understand the factors that contribute to the success of these challenges and to identify their essential elements. The outcomes of this research, including the platform and toolkit, are ready to be presented to a wider audience, particularly to those interested in using the power of design for change.

You are invited to join to the launch of the new ‘Design for Change’ platform and toolkit on 24 October 2025 in Eindhoven, during the Mission Days of the Dutch Design Foundation. This session will provide an overview of the research approach, highlight some key findings, the importance of knowledge sharing, include a panel discussion, and offer an exclusive preview of the platform.
