Perspectives on change

The Design Innovation Sessions explore the major transitions we as a society are facing, and the role creative industries can play in driving them. Across five days, you will hear fresh perspectives from leading researchers and creative pioneers, discover bold projects tackling urgent challenges, and connect with others who are in design and innovation. As part of the Mission Days, this curated programme is designed for professionals who want to be inspired and exchange ideas on real change.

Transitions shaping our future

The Living Environment session focuses on the question: how can design bridge the gap between policy ambitions and everyday urban life? In this session, we explore how design contributes to quality of life, from sustainable mobility to smart city planning. From policy to pavement. This session will be a mix of current big design questions, cutting-edge research, and pioneering projects that offer new insights and deliver solutions that work. Expect a morning full of inspiration and practical takeaways, all wrapped up with a delicious networking lunch.

Be there

Among the speakers are Roberto Rocco, with a keynote that explores spatial justice as a critical framework for shaping inclusive urban policy and design. And Monique Donker and Niels van Maaren, on ‘The Living Environment of Tomorrow’: a new design-driven research project exploring how to face long-term challenges such as biodiversity, social cohesion, and positive health on a neighbourhood level. More speakers will be announced. Follow CLICKNL for the latest updates and secure your spot at the Design Innovation Sessions on 20 October in Eindhoven (11:15h - 12:30h). All our attendees receive a free Dutch Design Week wristband, available for pick-up at your chosen Design Innovation Session.

CLICKNL develops and implements programs for the Creative Industries Top Sector to promote knowledge development and innovation. It does this by pooling energy, mobilizing expertise in the sector, and—in consultation with government bodies—taking a programmatic approach to relevant and topical issues. Top sectors are committed to, among other things, the ‘Mission-driven Innovation Policy’. This is a strategy that enables us to accelerate transitions, such as the energy transition.
