Perspectives on change
The Design Innovation Sessions explore the major transitions we as a society are facing, and the role creative industries can play in driving them. Across five days, you will hear fresh perspectives from leading researchers and creative pioneers, discover bold projects tackling urgent challenges, and connect with others who are in design and innovation. As part of the Mission Days, this curated programme is designed for professionals who want to be inspired and exchange ideas on real change.
Transitions shaping our future
The Thriving Planet session focuses on the question: how can (fashion) design become a catalyst for a future that restores rather than harms? This session explores how designers, researchers, and communities (co-)create regenerative systems, from extending the lifecycle of garments to rethinking material culture. This session will be a mix of current big design questions, cutting-edge research, and pioneering projects that offer new insights and deliver solutions that work. Expect a morning full of inspiration and practical takeaways, all wrapped up with a delicious networking lunch.

The speakers are Haiko Huvenaars, with a keynote that explores what drives regenerative change in times of resistance. And Doris Hondtong, who will share insights from the T-REX project, a Horizon Europe-funded collaboration exploring how design can accelerate circularity in fashion. And Elise van der Laan, Merel Wicker and Kim Leemans, on the brand new project Care & Repair that explores what it means to care for, and repair, a fashion system.
