Explores the intersections of surrealism, perception, and social and environmental reflection.
Distorted Order is a series of installations exploring hierarchy, equality, and the traces of time and climate change. The fabric installation, Imprint, creates the illusion of sun-bleached curtains, as if they have hung in front of a window for years, suggesting that subtle, unnoticed changes indoors mirror the gradual transformations occurring in our environment. The table and bench, with varying heights, are inspired by King Arthur’s Round Table, a symbol of equality, highlighting how this ideal remains a utopia.
Imprint fabrics are best displayed against a wall, creating the illusion of windows where there are none while introducing a sense of light that supports wellbeing. The table and bench act as conversation starters, prompting reflection on hierarchy and equality, particularly in office or interior spaces where these structures are most present.
The project reflects on how small shifts in form can reveal social and environmental imbalances, prompting reflection on hierarchy, equality, power, responsibility, and the often invisible effects of time and climate change.
