Forest Design Workshop

Creativity beyond walls — experience nature, think differently, and co-create ideas that matter.

The best designer on Earth? Nature. In the Forest Design Workshop we uncover what’s usually overlooked. For 3.8 billion years nature has shaped solutions — here it becomes your studio and co-designer to reconnect, rethink and redesign a sustainable future together.

Arrival. Pause. Perspective shift.

Our time is full of noise — fast design, faster consumption, constant output. The Forest Design Workshop invites you to step outside this loop and enter a different story: one where nature is not a resource but a teacher.
We begin with a speculative story that mirrors today’s challenges — about imbalance, acceleration, and the search for meaning. From there, participants move into the forest and reconnect with the most experienced designer on Earth. Outside means more than a place: it’s a mindset. Through short observation walks, mindful looking and simple making prompts, we train perception and curiosity — learning from what usually slips by: micro-textures, growth traces, natural resilience.

This phase is about attention as design: noticing how nature solves, adapts, regenerates. From that, we start thinking differently about what we create and why.

Rethink & Redesign

Design is not only about what we make, but about how we imagine possible futures. In this workshop we explore three interconnected paths that merge story, reflection, and creation.
Biophilic Design & Aesthetic Inspiration – transforming natural structures, colours and materials into new ideas for form and function.
Let Nature Work on You – reflective pacing, sketching and deep noticing; time in nature is proven to improve focus, creativity and problem-solving — and helps reframe human challenges.

Biomimicry & Nature-Integrated Design – learning from strategies like adaptability, cooperation, and circularity. With lightweight AI prompts, we translate these life principles into early visual or conceptual prototypes, bridging Natural Intelligence (NI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The process follows a simple narrative: from seeing → to sense-making → to creating.

By the end, participants not only experience a change in perception, but leave with reusable tools and the Forest Design Toolkit — a guide for continuing this exploration at home, in the studio, or in education.
Together, we frame the future — one idea, one observation, one design at a time.
