The collection balances simplicity and refinement, producing objects that are both functional and sculptural while reflecting the dialogue between timber and its shaping process.
Craft and Technique
The seats are crafted exclusively with hand tools and pre-industrial techniques, emphasising deliberation in every cut, split, and carved surface. Bespoke natural coatings refine the forms and bring out the timber’s character, reinforcing the dialogue between process, material, and design while respecting the inherent qualities of the wood.
Design Intent
Positioned between functional object and sculptural form, Ingrained demonstrates how craft-led making can generate contemporary design outcomes. The collection embraces variation and imperfection as integral to process, showing how material, technique, and form can be inseparably linked to propose new directions for furniture design.
