Natural Layers Within

DUBLO Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio creating modern interior pieces from natural materials. The studio’s work is guided by regenerative design principles, always exploring new ways to create with long-lasting, reusable resources and integrating traditional crafts. The aim is to produce functional, joyful objects that respect both people and the environment. In this exhibition, tree bark takes center stage. Once seen as mere waste, it is reimagined as a versatile design material. Visitors will encounter bark used in various forms—featured in sound panels that explore its acoustic qualities, and as a decorative surface in two small cabinets where its texture and natural beauty are highlighted. Each piece demonstrates a unique approach to working with this organic material, offering new perspectives on how nature and design can coexist. In addition, the form and texture of bark have inspired a series of small objects and patterns. These items, shaped by the bark’s natural curves and irregularities, embody DUBLO Studio’s playful and poetic design language. Together, the works on display offer a reflection on material cycles, craft, and the potential for sustainable, nature-based innovation in contemporary design.
