Locally sourced residual materials from Luxembourg such as sediments, mining waste, minette iron ore, and construction debris, are hand-shaped and bound with natural agents like salt, starch and lime. These “new stones” become collectible design objects, biodegradable, modular column-shaped consoles that can be arranged in different heights and configurations. Their layered textures do not merely imitate erosion and growth but participate in these processes. New Rocks invites a rethinking of materiality, turning discarded rocks and materials into a resource and reconnecting them to nature through material experimentation and sculptural expression.
