Resonance of the Self
Composer Mirusi Mergina invites you into an immersive installation shaped by the subtle, ever-shifting rhythms of her body.
In a darkened, dreamlike space, you are drawn inward. Her body is live-connected to the music—real-time data from her heartbeat, breath, and internal rhythms continuously shape the sound. The composition is not pre-recorded or fixed; it is alive, unfolding moment by moment, in direct response to her physical and emotional state.
You are not just a listener; you become a silent witness to vulnerability.
In this space, listening is no longer passive—it becomes a quiet act of attunement. You are invited to feel the music as a living presence, to sense its pulse as it reflects both the artist’s inner life and your own.
This installation blurs the lines between composer and composition, between performance and presence. At the heart of Mirusi Mergina’s work lies a central question:
How can we listen more deeply—to others, and to ourselves?
The origins
This project emerged from the artist's deep fascination for psychology, vulnerability, and a longing to dissolve the boundaries between body, sound, and listener. At its core lies an exploration of what it means to connect with music in the most intimate way — where the composer is not separate from the composition, but fully present within it. It invites a shared space of listening, where presence becomes the medium for connection.
