Material
The waste wood pieces were collected in Bernd-Klebs GmbH: a recycling centre in Berlin. Each stool is built from wood found in there, making use of its irregular shapes, sizes, and histories.
Construction
The stools are assembled using wedges made from the same reclaimed wood, which allows the pieces to be disassembled and repaired if needed. A Grasshopper code supports this process by matching the available materials to the appropriate template structure. Through this framework, the project proposes a system of making where reusing materials becomes an active part of the design process. It sits between craft and computational design, combining traditional joinery techniques with digital tools.
Aesthetic
Although following a standardised process, each stool is unique due to the diversity of the material used.
