Technology for more humane decision making

Design your own counterspeech

In a future society where every voice is heard, contradiction is common. If every need counts, how do we make decisions? Reflectively pull the strings in this interactive meeting. With Policymakers we will set the tone for counterspeech.

Meet the the digital characters

Figures and reports with bullet points currently dominate decision-making. Participation projects collect rich insights, but often that input is transformed and reduced to points that are easy to communicate. This is logical, because within a limited time frame, a uniform perspective is practical for civil servants. However, it does not reflect reality. In the process, many nuances, experiences and insights from the rich data collected are lost.

Parai develops digital characters based on a unique combination of Large Language Models (LLMs). These "stemdragers" are grounded, interactive digital characters that use input data to bring opinions from society directly to the table in decision-making processes. They are not real: their photo is AI and their voice is generated, but the needs they represent are real. Policy makers can then ask questions throughout their workflow and the digital characters can participate in their meetings, so that they are not forgotten.

An interactive meeting

In this workshop we will design and decide toghether how we want the digital characters to behave. In a society where each voice is heard, counter-narrative becomes frequent. If different needs are equal, how do we make decisions? And how do we want to be contradicted? Constructively or directly? Proactively or passively? Kindly or purposefully? Together, we will experience it in this meeting.

* This workshop will be fully in Dutch

We are Robin & Jim. Parai is a start-up that originated directly from research conducted during our graduation from the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology. In our research, we saw the potential that new technology can have on our society. In collaboration with the public sector, we are investigating how for instance AI can contribute to humane decision-making.
