A historical timeline
This is a historical timeline of the former World Design Embassies programme (2017-2024, now Coalitions) organised by Dutch Design Foundation. It shows how design projects unfold over larger timescales. How does the work of designers hang together with larger historical movements? How can the work of individual designers contribute towards shared missions? How should we deal with the tension between the desire for societal impact and the explorative attitude of designers. What is missing from this history?
Expeditie Methodiek
This timeline is one of the results of Expeditie Methdodiek. This project by Eindhoven University of Technology and CLICKNL researches methods developed by Dutch Design Foundation for accelerating and realising societal impact in the context of mission-driven innovation.
Word of thanks for the designers
Designers make history. This historical overview shows larger timescales and practices of which design and designers are a part. To make this visible, the individual designers have been decentralised. Nevertheless, the work of World Design Embassies would be impossible without the dedication of individual designers.
