What can you see and do at DDW Virtual?
DDW20 may be fully virtual, yet it brings to life the core drivers defining DDW since it first began in 2001: (new) connections and exploration. With more than 500 3D Viewing Rooms, online talks, DDW TV and livestreams the event is rich in content. Discover new projects and emerging talents, explore the work of the graduates of renowned schools including Royal College of Art (London) and Design Academy Eindhoven, or check out one of the virtual routes. The theme 'The New Intimacy' is more topical than ever and steers the festival’s focus on the search for new forms of intimacy during these COVID-19 times. The complete programme of DDW20, including all exhibitors, can be found here.
Discover the DDW Talks Programme
Last year, DDW organised an extensive ‘Talks’ programme curated with partners. DDW20 is no different with a week long of diverse DDW Talks that can be watched live from the comfort of your own home. Together with key figures from the field of design and beyond, DDW Talks explore a wide assortment of design disciplines, discuss hot topics and current affairs, reflect on the past and propel our minds into the future. Check out the full DDW Talks programme.
DDW20 Ambassadors
Lidewij Edelkoort, Sabine Marcelis and Sean Carney are the ambassadors of DDW20. Lidewij has held the position of the world’s most important and leading trend forecaster for decades. She will share her ambassador title for DDW20 with designer Sabine, who took the design world by storm with her magical objects and installations, and Sean who is responsible for Healthcare Transformation Services at Philips. As part of DDW Virtual, they will share their unique perspectives on design from their own backgrounds and disciplines. Find out more about the ambassadors and their projects.
