AUSTRAL

Austral is an innovative plant-based biomaterial that provides a substantial advancement in sustainable design. The material is created from a unique blend of carboxymethylcellulose and sodium alginate, derived from brown algae, along with other organic residues. The result is a multifunctional and adaptable material that is a great choice for a variety of uses, including sustainable fashion, furniture, and sculpture.

One of the key advantages of Austral is its versatility, considering its unique ability to be used for both hard constructions and flexible, transparent materials. They are all generated  from the same ingredients that have undergone various processes, leading to different, multipurpose results.

Austral is biodegradable, non-toxic, and has a minimal carbon footprint. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional materials. By using Austral, design can help reduce material consumption and overproduction while creating innovative, sustainable designs that are both functional and eco-friendly.
