The pressure on housing is enormous in the Brainport Region. In order to cope with the demand, accelerating the construction task seems to be the solution. But is that really the case? How does densification affect the livability of the city? How to ensure that green spaces and other quality remain?
Living LAB 040
The Living LAB 040 is an experimental building site in the neighboorhood âBuurtschap te Veldâ. Here we gradually develop and exhibit new housing concepts, industrial designs, mobility concepts, spatial designs, etc.
During the DDW we will open our location to the public in order to inspire and debate on the import challenges we face, susch as social cohesion in neihgbourhoods, health, new living concepts, healthy densification etc.

Due to the growth of the Brainport region, the number of inhabitants will increase rapidly in the coming years. This not only provides pressure on the housing market. Growth also means that more people will share the same number of square meters. How can we give shape to this complex task without compromising the quality of life? Without driving greenery and biodiversity out of the city? And hardening social structures?
