The next generation shapes the city

Project NextUp, an initiative by DEMO, challenges young creatives to dive into social design and apply it to emerging urban spaces. How do you tackle design in areas that are still developing? And what kind of impact can you make? Over the past eight weeks, a group of talented young participants have been hard at work on a social design challenge, and now it's time to showcase their ideas!

During Dutch Design Week 2024 (DDW), these young innovators will present and test their ideas for transforming the public space around Eindhoven Station, an area known as KnoopXL. Through a series of workshops, they’ve collaborated with professional designers to brainstorm and develop new ideas for the future of this area. Their fresh ideas represent the voice of a new generation of city dwellers, and they aim to create a more sustainable, inclusive living environment for all.

Join us at DDW 2024 to see their ideas, give feedback, and help shape their next steps. After the event, the participants will incorporate this feedback as they continue developing their projects, bringing them closer to realization.
