From sustainable to circular products – that´s the pathway of the European Green New Deal. We show aligned project examples from the Green Product Awards and offer guidance in future design & regulations. As takeaway we have the Green Trend Book 2024 for you.
Green Product Awards Examples
With the Green Product Awards, we gather sustainable projects from all around the globe. Under this year’s award theme, "Green Olympics," we showcase products and concepts that highlight the transition from sustainable to circular design.
Following the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Directive, you'll discover innovations such as unconventional material sources, modular designs, repairable products, and those that close the loop on recycling. Playful yet purposeful, these creations inspire responsible production and consumption.
The "5 Rings" projects represent a microcosm of materials and production processes, unified by design. Thirteen designers crafted each 5 rings from diverse materials, rigorously evaluated by their environmental footprints, highlighting the upcoming mandatory measurement standards for all products next year.
Explore further examples below, and remember, you can submit your green projects by November 16 to compete in the Green Olympics of the Green Product Awards 2025.
The Club & the Green New Deal
As the Green New Deal regulations approach, businesses and designers must prepare for the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) guideline, already active in the Netherlands and soon across the EU. Companies in fashion, packaging, and furniture will be impacted. Gear up for the Green New Deal with the Green Future Club and Green Product Award’s "Green Olympics." Like athletes, businesses need to get "fit" by adopting repairability, recycling, and take-back systems, with a focus on innovation, compliance, and expert networking to navigate these changes effectively.
