New Order of Fashion (NOOF) presents Regeneration: From the Source. Building upon last year’s exploration of regenerative fashion - a holistic approach emphasizing the interconnected principles of earth care, people care, and fair share - this year’s exhibition returns to the source.
What can sources teach us?
Sources are the foundation of our existence. A place from which materials, knowledge, experiences, and even life itself emerges. Whether material or immaterial - a mine, a story, a seed, a memory, a person, or a non-human life form - sources hold profound wisdom; if only we are willing to look and listen closely. As the planet is showing us, sources are neither limitless nor inexhaustible. Their future depends on collaborative action and responsibility.
Advancing regeneration in fashion through design and research
New Order of Fashion brings forth emerging perspectives and exemplary methodologies by showcasing the next generation of fashion visionaries. Alongside its yearly curated selection of illustrative designs from talents from leading academies, NOOF highlights the work of students and researchers involved in the North Plus Collaboration. This collaborative initiative, involving Aalto University, the Iceland University of the Arts, and the Estonian Academy of Design, focuses on pioneering research into the potential of seaweed within the framework of a sustainable "blue economy."
Join the regenerative movement: learn, create & connect
Alongside the exhibition, we offer a daily interactive public programme. Join us on Sunday, October 20th, from 9 AM for a special TexTalk x NOOF panel discussion on 'Regeneration Through the Lens of Seaweed.' Throughout the week we will host various activations, such as screen printing with seaweed-based ink and Anthotyping - elemental printing with local plant-based reactive dyes.
