Area 51 is a unique and one-of-a-kind skatepark where a few main areas will be transformed into inspiring design showcases, creating the perfect playground for design. The exhibitions are inspired by Isola Design’s theme of this year, This Future is Currently Unavailable.
This Future is Currently Unavailable
Isola Design is on a journey to prove that design is more than just sustainability, it's a powerhouse for tackling real-world issues. The strength of communities serves as a guiding light for designers, who embrace experimentation and collaboration across all fields and disciplines. They seek innovative solutions while remembering that design should have a collective impact on both the planet and humanity.
At the heart of the Isola Design event, within the exhibition Disclosure talks, panel discussions with industry professionals, networking opportunities, and various events and parties will take place.
Moreover the Area 51 café, on the first floor of the building, will host the Isola Design meeting and talk area. Designer Ritsert Mans will replace existing chairs with his CBAR chairs, Shuffly is placing their Shuffleboard and as the backdrop of the area, Moooi Carpets will produce a custom art tapestry designed by Ivi van Keulen.
In addition to the exhibitions at Area 51, Isola Design collaborates with The Social Hub, a hybrid hotel where Social label will celebrate its 10th anniversary with their installation Too Big to Fix.
