Since their first collaboration for Semana de la Arquitectura at Centro Centro in Madrid, which was shortlisted for the FRAME Moooi Award in 2013, Collective Paper Aesthetics and Labro Verpakkingen BV have designed and developed over 20 interactive models for nearly 50 international clients.

A Playful Way to Explore Mathematical Concepts in Museums, Festivals, Libraries, and at Home

HEART-board Pyramid are building blocks made of 100% corrugated cardboard that are easy to assemble using hand only. Interpreting the geometric properties of the truncated tetrahedral-octahedral honeycomb, this design serves as an interactive building game, suitable for families and children aged 7 and above.

Through the use of recyclable cardboard and a co-creation process, the HEART-board Pyramid is designed to be highly sustainable, both environmentally, through its materials, and socially, by fostering collaboration and community engagement.

Among the HEART-board Pyramid public pop-ups are Buffalo Museum of Science, NY; Sutton Central Library, UK; Metsähallitus during Helsinki Design Week, Finland; Phaeno Science Center, Germany; Bodrum Sağlık Vakfı, Turkey; New World Department Store, China; Design Pavilion at NYCXDESIGN, NY; 798 International Children's Art Festival, China; Haifa City Museums, Israel; Art Center Sarasota, FL; and more.

The model was one of 10 finalists in the SXSW EDU Learning by Design competition in 2018 and was selected by FRAME editorial as one of five cardboard designs aimed at enhancing home learning environments for children in 2020.
