The Symbiotic Design Academy (SDA) is a community around Design & Sustainability that specializes in creating online courses. We help designers go from conventional practices to sustainable and symbiotic ones, reducing their environmental impact.
What is the Academy?
The Symbiotic Design Academy is a forward-thinking school that aims to change how designers approach their work by promoting symbiotic design principles. Through a thorough curriculum and practical learning opportunities, the Academy prepares design professionals to become environmentally-friendly.
The Academy serves as a comprehensive repository of resources, offering designers and sustainability professionals access to events, book recommendations, workshops, free courses, and numerous other empowerment opportunities.
What Does the Academy?
The Symbiotic Design Academy specializes in delivering cutting-edge online courses in sustainable design. These courses cater to designers and professionals from diverse fields worldwide. What sets SDA apart is its unique teaching approach, developed by Dr. Gonzalo Raineri, a experienced figure in the field of sustainable design. The methodology, known as the Symbiotic Design Framework, is the culmination of six years of intensive research at the intersection of design, biology and sustainability.
At the core of the Symbiotic Design Academy's teachings is the understanding that design is a co-creative and self-organizing process, involving collaboration, communication, and feedback among various stakeholders. The Academy's framework is grounded in a holistic approach that considers the interplay between human, temporal, emergent, observational, operational, associative, tangible, and outcome components. Where can I see it during the DDW and beyond?
The Academy will be giving two free workshops on Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th of October at 11:00 AM. They are going to take place on the open space area of Manifestations at VEEM #8.
