Fabrique Ceramique is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a presentation of 10 selected projects from the past ten years. With: Ragnar Kjartansson, Powerhouse Company, Maarten Vanden Eynde and others. The presentation is in the workshop where Fabrique Céramique is also housed.

"Guilt & Fear" by Ragnar Kjartansson.

In 2021, Museum De Pont in Tilburg asked us to produce a new work for Ragnar Kjartansson for his solo exhibition a year later. The work consists of 1000 pepper and salt shakers that were exhibited in the former wool sheds in the museum. The shakers are made of cast white porcelain, with hand-painted Delft blue decorations.

Fabrique Céramique developed the final design in close collaboration with the artist and Sander Alblas, who provided the 3D drawings and milled the master mold. We made the production molds and took care of the production. The 1000 pieces eventually became 2000, because the installation was simultaneously shown in New York at the Luhring Augustine gallery.

District-E, for Powerhouse Company

At the end of 2019, Fabrique Céramique was commissioned by Powerhouse Company to create a scaled art piece of their design for District-E. It involved three high residential/work towers with a characteristic colour gradient, which will be located on the station square in Eindhoven.

Based on the drawings of the towers, material samples and a mood board, we made a translation into ceramics on a scale of 1:50. Fabrique Céramique created the final shapes using 3D milled moulds from polyurethane foam. To imitate the colour gradient, we used 35 shades of clay with a gradient from black, to red, to white.

Half life, 2019, by Maarten Vanden Eynde

In 2019, we produced an installation for Maarten Vanden Eynde, commissioned by Z33, ONDRAF/NIRAS and SCK•CEN. The work consists of 9 ceramic nuclear storage containers, each half the size. The largest was 133 centimetres high, the last one no more than five millimetres.

Fabrique Ceramique made the plaster moulds and executed the nine sculptures in 'Boomse' clay.
