A meteor shower of desirable objects has been detected in outer space. Calculations indicate that this celestial event is earthbound and expected to strike the heart of Eindhoven with astronomical velocity.
GET READY FOR
âCRASH LANDINGâ explores a speculative narrative surrounding collectible and signature design, with a special focus on some of the more sculptural pieces in the field. These works, often described as having an otherworldly quality, inspire a sense of wonderâleading us to imagine they may have originated from distant galaxies.
The exhibition's theme revolves around the impact of their physical and metaphorical collision with our reality. Physically, the space itself; through its scenography, will evoke a sense of disruption and reconstruction caused by the âimpactâ. Metaphorically, the show embraces a bold, punk-inspired collective approach, reflecting on the diminishing presence of collectible and signature design during Dutch Design Week. Through this, we aim to highlight the importance of maintaining such works in the spotlight of contemporary design conversations.
