Boey Wang makes cooking materials from a tactile perspective, in addition to the usual visual design focus. This way, his products are attractive to both people with and without visual impairments. Boey wants to raise awareness for fully inclusive products and multi-sensory experiences.
Visual impairments
In the Netherlands alone, 300,000 people struggle with visual impairments such as colour blindness and nearsightedness. Most standard products are unsuitable for them or require modifications, because they are designed with a visual design focus. Ironically, alternatives or modified solutions are usually exclusively designed for people with physical disabilities and not widely used by the general public.
