Wasven is committed to preserving its own living environment. Working together in nature creates synergy between the green and social domains. Participation in the community is central. During DDW we present our working method and put it into practice.
Doing Green
The event takes place in the yard and garden of Wasven with a local mix of nature and cultural activities. A market with workshops and green information stands, worldly music from CKE, nature activities for children and plant-based drinks and snacks. Be inspired by the knowledge and skills of the many green volunteer work in the city.
Not only is Wasven celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, it is also exactly 15 years ago that the World Tree Foundation was founded and our plane tree was crowned the first World Tree in the Netherlands.
With a performance of the didgeridoo of the Anne Frank tree (chestnut) and our World Tree (sycamore) and a demonstration of climbing pruning by professional tree climbers. Or take a ride through the estate forest with a soapbox made from our plane tree. And visit the “Fuel Expo” with works of art made from our burned World tree, symbol of community spirit.
