From a stacked set of glassware that is an everchanging sculpture inspired by water, to a series of clocks of unusual sizes inspired by time. Fabienne Crans designs and sells products that have a story to tell. Stories of explorations of form, interaction, material and production process.
Tefnut - glassware
Tefnut is a set of glass-blown bowls and a carafe inspired by water. The minimalistic designs become a complex centrepiece of art simply by stacking them. When one or two objects are in use, the rest is still a sculpture in the home. It’s a different way of approaching modularity and the interaction of products that are usually hidden behind kitchen cabinet doors. And just like a droplet falling into water, the shapes are unique and created in the moment during glassblowing. Tefnut elevates the living experience in a subtle but poetic and thoughtful way.
Trampoli - clocks
Trampoli is a series of clocks inspired by a natural map of time, the growth rings of trees. The four clocks fit together and can be made from a single plank of wood. In addition, the use of material is minimized by the thin design, without compromising on size, to create a striking eye-catcher. The smallest clock is also made separately from scrap wood. The wood and the placement of the drawing are carefully chosen. Each clock is unique because the wood grain is always different.
