The Garden Table is a lunch series aimed at fostering conviviality and encouraging presence as a way to bring people closer to the land, the table, and to one another. Together we will gather in the greenhouse to share a seasonal five-course meal, entirely made using produce from the very same land.
Phood Farm: where it all starts
Through The Garden Table, we invite you to connect deeply, with each other, with the region’s ingredients, and with nature itself. To stay updated on project news, schedules, and menu details, follow us on Instagram or get in touch via email.
Our journey begins at Phood Farm, located at Hugo van der Goeslaan 2-01, Eindhoven, a pioneering urban aquaponic farm that embodies regenerative agriculture, community care, and hyperlocal food production. There, guided by the staff, we will take a tour of the aquaponic farm, where the workings of the system will be explained, along with the uses and applications of its products (microgreens, mushrooms, superfoods), while also sharing the philosophy behind their work and our project.
Children are welcome! The environment at Phood Farm, as well as the garden space, is stimulating and suitable for them. The menu might be a bit challenging for their tastes - especially if they are not used to vegetables or new flavors - , but we leave this discretion to the parents. They are welcome to join as companions, and if they do, please specify any preferences to us in advance.
The greenhouse: where the journey continues
The morning continues as we ride together by bike to the next location: the enchanting Phood Farm garden, just five minutes from the first site. Here begins the second part of our project, where you will have the chance to explore, learn about, and taste some of the local and seasonal produce from the garden’s wide selection.
The garden also features a greenhouse, whose products will be introduced to you during our walk. Together, we will select one ingredient to harvest, which will later be used in preparing the lunch. This part of the experience invites you to engage with the land, discovering the flavors and stories behind each plant, while connecting with the environment and the rhythms of the garden.
By actively participating in the harvest, the link between ingredient and meal becomes tangible, and the ritual of gathering together turns into a shared celebration of nature’s bounty. This immersive approach allows everyone to experience how the food grows, and how its story can be translated onto the plate, deepening the connection between the place, and the produce.
The Garden Table: the menu, the cutlery.. and the garden
Together, we will sit in a setting immersed in the garden. The lunch will feature a five-course original menu, paired with homemade kombuchas and concluded with a dessert. Our approach is to remain as true as possible to the ingredients, elevating each one without overpowering it.
The meal will be served using a special line of cutlery and plates crafted from the natural shapes of the surroundings, blurring the line between product and context. Flowers will play a role not only in the setting but also on the plates themselves, as Phood Farm provides a variety of edible flowers alongside microgreens. A deep research is involved both in the making of the ambiente.
By sharing food in this way, we hope to leave a subtle yet lasting impression on our guests—an invitation to reflect, appreciate, and contribute to meaningful change in the ways we relate to our environment, our meals, and each other.
