Selected Works

Paul Coenen presents new and existing works that trace the development of his practice. His process begins with intuitive paper scale models—cut, folded, bent and glued—which he translates into sheet-metal furniture and objects.

Shaped by Process

Paul Coenen presents a selection of new and existing works that reflect the development of his practice from its beginnings to the present day. His design process starts with paper scale models, which he cuts, folds, bends and glues into shape. These intuitive experiments are then translated into sheet-metal furniture and objects.

Through each project, Coenen explores the possibilities and limitations of the material, allowing its properties and the production process to guide the final form. The resulting works are direct and honest: their construction remains visible, and each detail follows naturally from the materials and techniques used.
