This year’s DDW is set to be different to previous editions, and not simply because it takes place against a backdrop of pandemic but also because we all had time to pause and to consider the tomorrow we want.
Kiki and Joost open the doors of their new studio and workshop showcasing stories of dedication: a project of daily making during lockdown and an open door to community. One Piece Per Day is a collection of more than 50 handmade candle holders. They were made daily in clay during lockdown – one piece each day. It was a restorative practice that fueled creativity, kept them sane and respectufully acknowledged the moment we all experienced.
Kiki van Eijk has had a long relationship with Saint-Louis Crystal so inviting the French historical manufacturer in their first presence at DDW felt right.
Together they will showcase Matrice – their latest collaboration and bring a roast of experiences to the space.
The Dutch Social Label, involved in design for good, will host daily LIVE podcasts from the studio library, showcasing the importance of sharing resources.
Fresh from the collaboration between MOOOI and Joost, the Dutch company will present the new Tinkering Lamp- back in the space it was made , alongside a new collection of MOOOI carpets.
