The garden of Cyrus is a virtual space created by Daniel Martin. In this project Martin questions the division between the virtual and the real. The presented digital objects however can become tangible as decorative or architectural elements integrated in the real world.

.

The Garden of Cyrus is an online exhibition with digitally created 3d art that can be realized on demand. The exhibition has been released in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Queretaro, MX, and Beers London Gallery this summer. The Garden of Cyrus transcends brick and mortar and connects the London based Gallery with the Mexican museum with art that is directly linked to each other.

The exhibition questions our perception of reality. It does so by using photorealistic imagery and video of non-existing artwork. Hereby the virtual influences distort what we see and how we interpret it. The Garden of Cyrus therefore is spread online making the beholder believe the exhibition is real and taking place in the museum and the gallery. With the concept of art that can be realized on demand, the artist wants to show that the triangle of an artist who makes, the gallerist who shows, and the collector who buys is complete, the Garden of Cyrus leaves the digital domain and becomes a reality at the DDW.
