The technique of textile manipulation is very old and almost extinct. And this is a shame, it's a beautiful technique that produces three-dimensional patterns. The technique was mainly used in clothing, as it could also be seen on the cloth in the Zeeland traditional costume. The technique was also reflected in the interior, especially on cushions. The patterns were small and of supple, thin fabric. I use this technique in modern wall objects with large patterns. My Manipulation collection is a collection of handmade, modern wall objects. In which this beautiful old technique is made visible on an enlarged scale.
