The glass industry faces major challenges. Consider the cost of energy and materials and the sustainability issue. With Re-Use-Me, we investigate whether reuse can make a positive contribution to the future of glass.

Re-Use-Me is new long-term programme.

In order to conduct more focused research into the possibilities of glass reuse, Make Eindhoven has sought to collaborate with the Nationaal Glasmuseum / Glasblazerij Leerdam and Studio Rogier Martens.

Within this framework, designers Arnout Visser, Teun Zwets and Studio Rens will research the potential uses of used glass during a work period. Discarded glass objects can be transformed into new shapes but can also be used as raw material for new glass, fully recycled.

Students of various art schools can participate in a competition that is all about (glass) recycling. During the DDW, the winners of the design competition will be announced and the chosen design will be realised together with glass blowers from Leerdam and advisors from Make Eindhoven.

Designs and results are exhibited in the workshop during the DDW. There will also be public demonstrations.
