S+T+ARTS for Environmental Commons

S+T+ARTS day at Dutch Design Week will showcase and share creative and critical approaches to ecology and the environment as commons.

Although novel technological, ecological and business solutions are entering the markets, artists are the ones that are making them inclusive and sustainable for society. The commons are the cultural and natural resources accessible to all members of society, including a habitable earth. We will showcase art-driven innovation. Several S+T+ARTS Prize nominees and honorary mentioned artists will take the stage and engage with citizens, emerging designers and the industry around their work. We invite you to join our platform to share ideas and inspiration and go into discussion with the artists on the environmental commons. The talks will conclude with an inspiring tour of the Dutch Design Week exhibitions.

S+T+ARTS is a European Commissioned project that supports innovation on the nexus of Science, Technology and the Arts.

About Waag Futurelab

Waag Futurelab is a platform for designers and artists to research current societal issues. Waag brings together all relevant parties through expositions, presentations, experiments, debates and reflection. In the four-year Expeditions to planet B programme, Waag Futurelab is finding the answer to the following design questions: what if a planet B would exist? How would we re-design our world and our lives? And what does that teach us about the here and now?
