In the video-podcast series 'Creatief Verdwalen', Irving Vorster talks to inspiring guests from the creative field. In this episode Irving Enroute, he interviews Irene van Ophoven at the Dutch Design Week about her geometric inspiration. Audience is welcome during this live talk.

Irving Vorster

Irving Vorster is a fashion designer who, under the label IRVINX, designs couture and ready-to-wear clothing for women who love unique and timeless clothing. Typical Irvinx designs are asymmetrical shapes and rhythmic, graphic lines, 'edgy' but with an eye for feminine elegance and natural and luxurious fabrics. Irving runs a couture salon in the Fashiondistrict in Arnhem.

He is also the video-podcast creator of "Creatief Verdwalen". The idea to do interviews arose during the Corona lockdowns and in a short time it grew into a series of inspiring conversations with its own YouTube channel. Earlier Irving interviewed Jan Jansen, Kees Marcelis, Addy van den Krommenakker and Guan Elmzoon, among others.

Afterwards the interview with Irene van Ophoven at the Dutch Design Week can be watched via the Youtube channel of Irving Vorster:

Irene van Ophoven

Irene van Ophoven is a Dutch designer, stylist and founder of Studio Irene van Ophoven, based in Rotterdam. Geometric patterns and life-size graphic designs are her signature style.

The time we spend online every day makes the physical experience and expressiveness of a space even more important. Irene is fascinated by how a design with patterns and tactility affects the way we experience spaces and give them individuality. With a strong sense of aesthetics and sophisticated use of colour, she designs textile statement items for dynamic interiors. At MONDiLAB, she will be exhibiting her new collection of wall art, rugs and cushions during Dutch Design Week.

Moreover, this year Studio Irene van Ophoven is one of the participants in the Driving Dutch Design (DDD) programme. This professionalisation and networking programme is intended to help Dutch designers develop further and is supported by ABN AMRO, Stichting Stokroos, Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO) and Dutch Design Foundation (DDF).

MONDiLAB

MONDiLAB is the place where professional makers come for innovation in the textile crafts. Here, designers, artists, (interior)architects, and experts translate their original works into new collections and brands in textile.
